All types of games provided chances to win guns and other prizes at the annual family banquet of the Izaak Walton League West Central Chapter. The banquet took place at the Schleswig Community Building. The games, plus the auction of items, raised funds for the programs conducted by the West Central Iowa Chapter.

Jacob Wigg, of Schleswig, puts his long arm span to work in the arm stretch game at the Izaak Walton League West Central Chapter’s Family Banquet Saturday night at the Schleswig Community Building. The object is to string out the tickets as far as one’s arms will stretch in order to get the most chances possible to win a gun. Wigg said he is about 6’10” but believes his arm span is a few inches longer.
People bid at auction on empty gun cases with the hope that they would be the lucky winner of a gun to put in the case. Attached to each case was one-half of a playing card. The other halves of the cards were drawn from a bucket one at a time. The last person standing was the winner of the gun.
Janet LaFrentz, of Schleswig, was excited at winning this motorbike, probably just as excited as her grandchildren who want a chance to ride it. She is pictured with her grandson, Brennan Lambert.
Kids got to choose from the prizes placed on two tables. A third table displayed door prizes for adults.
Kids were able to choose from the door prizes from the two tables on the floor.
Tickets are drawn from buckets for prizes.
