Protecting a narrow, four-vote majority, Republican leaders in the House are making clear that they intend to let the legal process play out.
Congressional campaign records released Friday show Santos raised a relatively paltry $138,000 during the last three months.
The House voted Friday to expel Republican Rep. George Santos of New York after a blistering ethics report on his conduct heightened lawmakers' concerns about the scandal-plagued freshman.

The result has been a dizzying 11 months in a House majority riven by infighting, taking its toll on the business of governing.
Fresh off his historic expulsion last week, George Santos has created a Cameo account under the bio “Former congressional ‘Icon’!” where the public can pay for a personalized video message.
Iowa Representative Zack Nunn called Santos a "con man" in a statement Friday.
Santos seeks statutory damages totaling $750,000 for five videos he created that were played on the show and social media platforms.
Rep. George Santos easily survived a vote to expel him from the House as most Republicans opted to withhold punishment as both his criminal trial and an ethics probe proceed.
Santos admitted last year to deceiving donors and stealing the identities of 11 people to make donations to his campaign.
