Firefighters work to extinguish the fire at AgriStar Meat & Poultry Plant on Tuesday in Postville. The fire started early Tuesday morning, and surrounding fire departments responded to help put out the fire. The plant is the largest employer in the town.

Firefighters on an aerial truck work Tuesday to extinguish the fire at Agri Star Meat & Poultry plant in Postville. Nineteen volunteer fire departments sent firefighters to fight the Tuesday fire, and four departments — Prairie du Chien, Decorah, Oelwein and Crisco — sent aerial trucks to assist. The Postville fire chief says 25 percent of the kosher meat processing plant was saved.
