Authorities have released the first detailed physical description of a male suspect wanted in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Gutherie, mother of 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie. In a social media statement, the FBI described the suspect as having an average build and an estimated height of 5’9” or 5’10”. This follows the release of doorbell camera footage showing a masked, armed individual outside Nancy's front door on the night she went missing. The FBI noted that, in the footage, the suspect was carrying a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack. Photos of a similar backpack have been provided for reference, with the FBI stating that the new details stem from a forensic analysis of the camera footage. The reward for information leading to Nancy’s whereabouts or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved has doubled from $50,000 to $100,000. So far, the FBI has received over 13,000 tips, including more than 4,000 in the 24 hours after the doorbell footage was released. Multiple gloves, which were recovered during the search for the 84-year-old, are currently being tested for DNA, although it’s unclear if authorities believe the suspect wore them. Authorities detained a man for questioning, but he was released without charge, claiming he was innocent and unaware of who Nancy was.
