Iowa's Mikey Caliendo scores seven seconds into sudden victory to beat Purdue's Joey Blaze, avenging a regular-season loss, to advance to the 165-championship match with an 8-5 victory.
It will be the 35th consecutive year the Hawkeyes have had a national finalist.
Caliendo will face Penn State's top-seeded Mitchell Mesenbrink in the finals.

Iowa State's Stevo Poulin was eliminated by defending national champion Vincent Robinson of North Carolina State at 125, and Garrett Grice was eliminated by Jacob Van Dee of Nebraska at 133.

Kevin Dresser gave a tough update following the conclusion of Session II at the NCAA Wrestling Championships. Isaac Dean (184) and Rocky Elam (197) both suffered injuries at the Big 12 Championships. Northern Iowa's Julian Farber had lost to Nebraska's Jacob Van Dee in each of the last two NCAA wrestling tournaments. Thursday, in a first-round match, Farber avenged that lost with a third-period rally to win 5-4, and advance to the second round at 133 in Cleveland.
