IOWA CITY — No. 17 Iowa goes on the road against No. 18 Michigan for the 2026 Big Ten opener on Saturday.
The Hawkeyes (3-0) are searching for their first win in Ann Arbor in 16 years. The Wolverines (3-0) have won the last four meetings overall and last two in Michigan Stadium.

Kamari Moulton, Brevin Doll and DJ Vonnahme will be available for Iowa after missing last week's 55-0 win over Northern Iowa. L.J. Phillips will also return from a high ankle sprain suffered in the season-opener.

Michigan will be without wide receiver Braydon Alford, running backs Micah Ka'apana and Jonathan Brown, defensive end Julius Holly, cornerback Jeffrey Chukwu and offensive linemen Ace Hamilton, Andrew Sprague, Andrew Babalola and Manuel Beigel.
Sprague started the first two games of the season but missed last week's game against UTEP.
Michigan strikes first on Underwood TD pass

After forcing punts on each of Iowa's first two drives, Michigan became the first team to find the end zone on Saturday.
Quarterback Bryce Underwood found Utah transfer JJ Buchanan from 18 yards out to put the Wolverines ahead 7-0 after a nine-play, 89-yard drive.
Michigan came out firing on the drive with Underwood completing a pair of passes to Andrew Marsh for 27 and 20 yards. Underwood also found Buchanan for a nine-yard gain three plays before the touchdown.
Iowa answers right back with kick return score

Michigan held its lead for 13 seconds — as long as it took Braeden Jackson to field the ensuing kickoff and return it 99 yards for a touchdown.
The Hawkeyes cleared a lane for Jackson up the righthand side and the second-year running back hit it for the score.
Michigan retakes lead on 41-yard field goal

The Wolverines regained the lead on Trey Butkowski's field goal from 41 yards out just over two minutes into the second quarter.
The kick ended an eight-play, 59-yard drive which saw Michigan's offense drive into Iowa territory behind gains of 22 and 11 and get a 15-yard penalty on Tyler Brown.
